Issue #71: Recent Outfits

OK I’ve been staring at this screen for a solid 5 minutes trying to gear up my brain to put words onto paper (so to speak) and the block is solid, y’all. So you’ll have to excuse the brief, and likely uncreative methods I’m taking today for the sake of writing something. They say the best way to beat writer’s block is to just keep writing, but man. It’s hard to get out of your head and just proceed. Maybe all the Gossip Girl reruns and Real Housewives episodes have finally gone to my head. Or it could be *gestures wildly* ya know.

Occasion: June 2, 2025 - Usual Monday therapy run with some nice 78 degree weather. This dress was stark white a few hours before this photo was taken. But I dyed it! It was actually another annoying crafting journey where I got the color wrong - not once, but twice. The second color (as shown) was much better than the first, so I’m keeping it like his for a bit.

Occasion: June 7, 2025 - A couple days before this, we had a long day at the hospital. Poor Stevie had a super long seizure and they were worried about his heart - ALL IS FINE. But on Saturday the huz and I cashed in our reward for a tough week and went on a quick overnight trip to Vegas to catch the Coldplay show! I wore all linen thinking it would keep me cool, but I did look like a crumpled mess by the time the night was over. Luckily I’m old and nobody really cares what I look like. Haha! Minimal packing here - just took my Boat + Tote and it was so luxurious to travel with no luggage.

Occasion: June 8, 2025 - wore this for brunch and travel home from Vegas. Can you tell how tired I was? Getting out of Allegiant Stadium and trying to get a cab took so long, I don’t think we made it back to our room until after 1am. Naps were had that afternoon and maybe every day since.

Occasion: June 9, 2025 - Had to take my SIL to a doctor’s appt in Santa Monica, so I made a whole day of it. Hung out at UCLA, had sushi for lunch, did a little shopping. It was 68 degrees (why don’t I live closer to the ocean) and I walked and walked and walked. One of my favorite ways to spend a day - local or otherwise!

Occasion: June 11, 2025 - I spent the morning fixing a few clothing items (or as I like to say “Rage-Mending”). Just stitching up a hole in a favorite sweater and darning a pair of socks. But I did it while I wanted to be out protesting the ICE raids in Los Angeles, so I definitely had an attitude on. Eventually I pulled myself together and put on a smile and took Stevie to music therapy. Parenting during this time is POSITIVELY WILD.
